Vaitheeswarankoil Town  Panchayat (Nagappattinam District)

 

This is a very important place of pilgrimage, famous for its temple dedicated to Lord Muruga. It is believed that the Siddhamirtha Theertham in this temple use to cure 4448 disceses. Ankaraka get cured of his leprosy when he bathed in this tank. By reason of the anathema pronounced by Saint Sadananda ,"Sheva Thosham" is rectified to Pooja this Ankaraka.
