Kanyakumari Town  Panchayat (Kanyakumari District)

 

Kanyakumari is the south most point of India. And this is famous for its Religious, historical & Tourism centers. Swami Vivekananthar Memorial, Ganthi Mandapam are the major land mark of this Place. Abort from this, 133 Feet Height Thiruvalluvar Statue, Arulmigu Pagavathi Amman Koil, Kamarajar Mani Mandapam, Tamil Annai Park, Beach and Boat House are the major attractions.

 

Swami Vivekananthar Memorial : In 1892 Swami Vivekananthar after completing his journey from Himalaya, He takes  meditation  by sitting on this rock.  For this rock his memorial  in build  and opened by  Ex. President  Thiru. Sree V.V.Giri on 2nd  September

1970.

    

Ganthi Mandapam : This is memorial for Mahathma Ganthi, constructed during 1956 as the sun light spotted on the "Beedam" (which is indide the mandapam ) via a small hole on every year October 2nd.

Arulmigu Pagavathi Amman Koil : Navarathri Pooja and Vaigasi  are the major Festivals

Alangara Upakara Matha Koil  : One of the Ancient Church having 153 Feet Height Tower and 8 Feet Golden Cross.

Tamil Annai Park : It is only Park for Divine Tamil Mother. Here statues of a valiant Tamil Women Chasing a Tiger with house hold Sweep, Famous Kings from the Tamil Literature like King Pari who denotes his Chariot to Mulli kodi, Paintings of Tamil Poets etc.

Inaugurated in Oct 1956 . This building is designed as the Sun light falls on the Beedam which is inside the Mandabam on Every year on October 2nd (Gandhi Jeyanthi)
