He has wide experience in Financial Management and State Planning and has held very important position as Secretary to Government in various Departments and a full time Member of State Planning Commission.

A 1983 Batch I.A.S. Officer has served in different capacities including the assignment as District Collector, Kanyakumari District. Before assuming the post, he was Managing Director, Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board.

Dr. NIRANJAN MARDI, I.A.S.,

A Commissioner grade, directly recruited I.A.S. officer belonging to the 1986 batch has served in different capacities. He served as District Collector, Tirunelveli earlier. Before he took charge as Commissioner of Municipal Administration, he was working as Commissioner of Land Reforms.

He is presently functioning as Chairman, Tindivanam Municipality. He was previously Member of Rajya Sabha during 1980-1986. He was elected as Municipal Chairman for the fourth term in October 2001.

He is a 1992 batch I.A.S. officer and has served in different capacities including the assignment as District Collector, Theni. Before he took charge as Member Secretary, he was working as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation, Chennai.

Presently he is the Director of Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri. Business, Chennai. Besides he is holding full Additional Charge of the post of Member Secretary, Third State Finance Commission.

He is a directly recruited I.A.S. officer of 1992 batch and has served in various capacities including the assignment as DS (Budget), Finance Department and District Collector in Sivaganga, Salem, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam districts.
