The Rani Mangammal Transport Corporation Limited is functioning with effect from 01.04.1986 with headquarters at Dindigul on bifurcation of Pandiyan Roadways Corporation Limited Madurai.  At the time of formation, it had a fleet strength of 446 vehicles.  The principal area of operation of Rani Mangammal Transport Corporation covers the Dindigul and Theni Districts.  The Rani Mangammal Transport Corporation was renamed as Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, (Madurai Division-IV) Ltd, Dindigul on 01.07.97 and its fleet strength as on 31.03.2003 was 713. During the year 2002-2003, 43 buses have been purchased for replacement.
