Stage Carriage Permit

                                    A permit is given to a bus operator to ply the vehicle in a particular route. The route consists of stages where passengers can be picked up and dropped. These permits are issued under Government policies.  The Government also decides about seasonal/monthly or confessional passes and fare from time to time. 

  1. Who can apply for Stage Carriage Permit?

                  Owner of the vehicle.                 
          2.   What are the documents to be given?        
                        (i) Application in Form-SCPA
                        (ii) PROOF OF ADDRESS (any one of the following to be produced)

  1. Ration Card
  2. Electoral Roll
  3. LIC Policy
  4. Passport
  5. Pay slip issued - Govt. Office (or) a Local Body
  6. School Certificate
  7. Birth Certificate
  8. Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or)   

           Notary Public
           (iii) Registration Certificate (if the vehicle is registered one)
                        (iv) Insurance Certificate (If the vehicle is a registered one)
           (v) Valid Tax
           (vi) Solvency Certificate for Rs.30, 000/-
                       (vii) Workshop facilities. 
3.     What is the amount of Fees payable?
                        (i)  Rs.1, 500/-
                        (ii)  For Inter State Route Rs.450/- per State
                        (iii) Timing Conference Fees Rs.600/-                                                           
4.      To whom should one apply?
                        (i)   Secretary / Regional Transport Authority for Intra State Route
           (ii)   State Transport Authority for Inter State Route   
5.      Time limit for getting Stage Carriage Permit?
