If the owner of the vehicle wants a number beyond the current series of the concerned Regional Transport Office, he/she should give a requisition letter to the Secretary, Home (Transport) Department, Secretariat, and Chennai-9 along with the copy of the purchase invoice of the vehicle.

1. Requisition letter in Rs.5/- Court fee stamp in the prescribed format .
2. Copy of the Vehicle purchase Invoice.
3. What is the amount of Fees payable?
(i) Allotted by Govt. Rs.20, 000/- (Upto 4 Series)
(From 5th Series to 8th Series Rs.30, 000/-)
(From 9th Series to 10th Series Rs.50, 000/-)
(From 11th Series to 12th Series Rs.1, 00,000/-)
4. To whom should one apply?
