2nd Feb 2004 Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Thiru A.B.Vajpayee to-day (2.2.2004) laid foundation stone at Kanyakumari for four laning of road from Kanyakumari to Panagudi under North-South Corridor Project, in the presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Selvi J Jayalalithaa and Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways. The North-South Corridor connects Kashmir in the North to Kanyakumari in the South.
The Hon'ble Prime Minister was earlier received by the Hon'ble Chief Minister Selvi J Jayalalithaa at Kanniyakumari.
