Visit of Mr Michael Carter, Country Director,  World Bank to Chennai, Kancheepuram & Vellore during 2-4, May 2003

Mr. Michael Carter, Country Director from the World Bank was on a visit to Chennai, Kancheepuram and Vellore between May 2-4,  2003 to take first hand view on the developmental projects in the State.  Mr.Carter expressed his strong appreciation for the fiscal reforms initiated by the State Government.  He looks forward to  more intense World Bank's partnership in the ensuing all round development of the State.  He travelled extensively to take a look at various development initiatives of the State Government.

Tamil Nadu has emerged as a pioneer in this Project to empower women.

Mr. Michael Carter interacted with members of Water Users Association at Kaveripakkam in Vellore District. The Water Resources Consolidation Project-II (Rs. 2900 Crores) is under the consideration of  World Bank for approval. 

Mr. Michael Carter visited the Kancheepuram Government Hospital . 
The State Government has the TN Health Systems Project (Rs.650 Crores) in the pipeline for World Bank sanction.

 

Mr. Micheal Carter interacted with the users of  Integrated Sanitary Complex in Kancheepuram.
