Policy Note - Revenue Dept, Tamil Nadu

In the G.O.Ms.No. 569, Revenue Department dt. 20.11.03, the Government ordered bifurcation of Dharmapuri District and creation of the new Krishnagiri District. The Districts, Taluks and Panchayat Unions attached to each district are as given below:

Krishnagiri District

In G.O.Ms.No. 569, Revenue Department, dt. 24.11.2003 sanction was accorded for a sum of 7.5 lakhs for the purchase of two new Ambassador Cars, one for the official use of Special Officer and the other one is for use of VIPs of the new Krishnagiri District.

In G.O. Ms.No. 19, Rev. Dept. dt. 19.1.2004, the Government have directed that 45 posts in various categories be diverted from the existing Dharmapuri District to New Krishnagiri District. The Government have also accorded sanction for 89 new posts for the Collectorate of Krishnagiri District.

The Government have further directed that for the said 89 posts 85 posts will be redeployed from the various Heads of Departments under the control of Revenue Department i.e. Land Reform, Agricultural Income Tax, Revenue Administration and Survey and Land Administration. In respect of the remaining 4 posts, the Government directed that one post of Treasury Officer shall be redeployed from the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts, one post of Computer Operator from the Government Data Centre, and one post of watchman to be out sourced and another post is the Collector of District, which has already been sanctioned.

In G.O Ms. No. 19, Rev. dt. 19.1.2004 sanction was accorded for a sum of Rs.16,52,269/- (Rupees sixteen lakhs fifty two thousand two hundred and sixty nine only) for the purchase of required furniture. The Government have also sanctioned a permanent advance of Rs. 3000/- (Rupees three thousand only) to the new Collectorate at Krishnagiri.
