Tamil Nadu State Board of Secondary Education syllabus for languages
Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Urudhu will be adopted.
And for languages Hindi, Sanskrit , Arabic and
French the present Matriculation syllabus and textbooks will be
continued. |

Syllabus For Matriculation Schools (LKG to 10th Standard) It is essential to nurture the talent of the students and the quality of the education through well thought out syllabi. The syllabus in operation, prepared by the Members of the Board of Matriculation Schools in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and implemented from the academic year 1996 - 1997. To incorporate the modern trends in science and technology, to satisfy the future social needs and to improve the talent of the students belonging to Matriculation Schools, the State Government issued a Government Order to frame the new syllabus. A high level committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. A. Gnanam was constituted as per the Government Order to revise the syllabi for all the subjects from KG to 10th Standard. Academic Experts and Education specialists were involved in this process. The Government has ordered the introduction of the revised syllabus in Matriculation Schools in a phased manner from the year 2005-2006 as below:- 2005-2006 (for LKG, UKG, I, II, VI and IX), 2006-2007(III, IV, VII, X) and 2007-2008(V, VIII).
