Palm Fibre is being exported to foreign countries such as America, England, Belgium, Philippines, Japan, German, Australia and Netherlands by the Tamil Nadu State Palmgur and Fibre Marketing Cooperative Federation and exporters from Thuthukudi in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu State Palmgur and Fibre Marketing Cooperative Federation has proposed to export palm fibre to the value of Rs.200.00 lakhs during the year 2002-2003 through its Fibre Export Wing.
Women artisans are engaged in the production of fine Palm Leaf articles in Manapad in Thuthukudi District, Pulicat in Tiruvallur District, Adukkamparai in Vellore District and Manamadurai in Sivagangai District. These products are being exported to America, London, France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, and Netherlands through Agencies.
