Objectives

·        To organise production and to promote handloom industry. 

·        To extend marketing support to weavers’ cooperative societies. 

·        To develop handloom industry on a commercial basis. 

·        To procure yarn from Cooperative Spinning Mills/NHDC and supply to  weavers’ cooperative  societies on  cash and on credit basis.

·        To create continuous employment opportunities for about 2.5 lakh weavers in the State.

·        To help Government to implement its welfare schemes like

               a) Free Supply of School Uniform under Noon Meal Programme. 

               b) Supply of Sarees and Dhothies to Old Age Pensioners.  

               c) Supply of Cloth materials to Sri Lankan Refugees.   

                by producing and procuring handloom material from weavers.
