ORDER:
The Government of India have enacted the Right to Information Act 2005, in order to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities, in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. Every Department of the Tamil Nadu Government has to designate the Public Information Officer and the Appellate authority for the purpose of the said Act. Accordingly, as per the provisions of clause (1) of Section 5 and clause (1) of Section 19 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 the officers mentioned below are designated to be the Public Information Officer/ the Appellate authority in respect of this Department for the purposes of the said Act.
