ORDER: In the Government order read above the Government among other things ordered for the sanction of scholarship for Private Pilots at license training Madras Flying Club at a flat rate of Rs.35 per hour of flying for maximum of 60 hours per student. 2. The Hony., Secretary, Madras Flying Club has reported that as the rate of scholarship fixed by the Government was very inadequate, compared to the fees fixed by the Director General of Civil Aviation for Private Pilots License Training, no student came forward to avail the State Government Scholarship. Stating that the Government of India have been gradually reducing the subvention, year by year, sanctioned by them and have decided to stop all subvention for the Private Pilots" License in future leaving the State Government to sponsor for the respective States, the Madras Flying Club has requested the Government to enhance the amount of scholarship for Private Pilot License training to Rs.701/- per hour for 60 hours per student i.e.50% of the non subsidised rate fixed by the Director General of Civil Aviation during the year 95-96 to 99-2000. He has further reported that a total of 10 students can given Private Pilot License training during one year exclusively for the Tamil Nadu Government Scholarship holders taking into account the availability of aircraft and instructors. 3. The Government examined the above request of the Madras Flying Club. Keeping in view the commercial opportunities available for the trainees after they qualify and the gradually reducing rate of subvention sanctioned by the Government of India year by year and enhanced the rate of fees fixed by the Director General of Civil Aviation for the year 2000-2001 for flying training ,the Government have decided to accept the request of the Madras Flying Club. 4. The Government accordingly direct that for the year 2000-2001 ten students shall be selected for the award of State Government Scholarship for Private Pilot License training at the rate ofRs.701/- per flying hour for 60 hours per student. The selection of student should be as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government from time to time in this regard. 5. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.823/FS/P dated 26.4.2000.
