ORDER

 

In the G.Os read above, the Government allowed to the Members of the TamilNadu State Legislature and Members of the Parliament hailing from TamilNadu, the concession of free travel in the buses of the following State Transport Undertakings:-

1) TamilNadu State Transport Department, Madras-2.

2) Pallavan Transport Corporation Ltd., Madras-2

3) Pandiyan Roadways Corporatiion Ltd., Madurai-16

4) Cholan Roadways Corporation Ltd., Kumbakonam; and

5) Cheran Transport Corporation Ltd., Coimbatore

2. The Government hereby direct the Managing Director, Anna Transport Corporation Ltd., Salem to allow the Members of the TamilNadu State Legislature and Members of the Parliament hailing from Tamil Nadu, to travel free in the Corporation's buses. For this purpose the Members need not be issued with separate passes by the Corporation. Thepasses issued by the TamilNadu State Transport Department would be valid and would be the authority for the members travelling in the Corporation buses.

3. The Managing Director, Anna Transport Corporation Ltd., is requested to issue instructions to the Corporatiion's staff to honour the passes issued by the TamilNadu State Transport Department to the Members for the purpose of free travel in the Corporatiion's buses. He is also requested to write to the Members individually informing them that they can use these passes for travel in the buses of the Corporation withoutpayment of far

4. The Anna Transport Corporation Ltd., should charge the Legislative Assembly and the Legislativie Council Departments as follows for allowing the Members free travel in the Corporation's buses:-

Amount to be charged per annum

1) Legislative Assembly Department Rs.4000 (Rupees four thousand)

2) Legislative Council Department Rs.1000 (Rupees one thousand)

The Corporation will claim from the above departments, once a year in April, the amounts due in respect of the previous year. If the passes have not been valid for a full financial year the payments claimed will be restricted to the number of completed months during which the passes have been valid in the financial year. The Corporation will ascertain from the above department the Heads of account under which the claims have to be made and will be reimbursed.

5. This order isisues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.105304/IB/73-1 dated 10.8.1973.
