ORDER:

The Government have decided to extend the free travel concession to the ex-Legislators to travel singly by any bus of the State Transport undertakings at any time within any part of the State of TamilNadu.

2. The bus passes referred to in para 1 above shall be issued to all former Legislators of Assembly/Council and also for former Member of Parliaments who are also former Member of Legislative Assembly in the State. The Legislative Assembly Secretariat shall issue identity card-cum-bus pass for the free travel to the Ex-M.L.As/M.L.Cs and former Member of Parliaments who are Ex-Members of Legislative Assembly as in being done to the sitting Members of Legislative Assembly.

3. The Managing Directors of all State Transport undertakings are requested to issue instructions to their staff to honour identity card cum bus passes issued by Legislative Assembly Secretariat to the former legislators for the purpose of travel singly without payment of bus fare in their area of operation.

4. The expenditure on provision of free travel passes to the ex-legislators shall be reimbursed to the Thiruvalluvar Transport Corporation by the Legislative Assembly Secretariat as per the procedure in vogue in respect of sitting Member of Legislative Assembly.

5. The Managing Directors of State Transport undertakings are requested to take action with immediately effect.
