ORDER: In the G.O. read above, the Government have inter-alia, issued orders that students studying upto VIII standard in the schools recognised by the Director of School Education be issued free travel bus passes to travel from their residence to schools and back in the town buses of State Transport undertakings. In the Government letter second read above, orders have been isisued that schools can directly approach the State Transport undertakings for getting the free bus passes. 2. On 25.7.1996, the Honourable Chieif Minister announced in the Legislative Assembly that students studying upto plus two in schools will be allowed free travel concession in the buses of State Transport undertakings. 3. The Government after careful consideration direct that the students studying above VIII standard upto plus two (Twelfth standard) recognised by the Director of School Education also be issued free travel bus passes to travel from their residence to schools and back in the buses of State Transport undertakings. 4. The Government also direct that the procedure and other conditions now being followed for issue of free bus passes to the students studying upto VIII standard, shall be continued to be followed in respect of students upto plus two (twelfth standard) for whom the concession has been extended as indicated in para 3 above. 5. The expenditure towards the issue of free bus passes to the students studying above VIII standard ordered in para 3 above will be reimbursed by Government to the State Transport undertakings concerned on the pattern adopted for reimbursing the costs in the case of students upto Standard VIII. 6. This order isisues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.3160/FS/P/96, dated 22.8.1996. (BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR)
