ORDER:

Government in G.O.(Ms.) No.12, Transport Department, dated 14.2.2003, accorded approval to the Director, Institute of Road Transport for procurement of 534 bus chassis for the year 2002-2003 by open tender on behalf of all State Transport Undertakings in accordance with Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tender Act 1998 and Tamil Nadu transparency in Tender Rules 2002.

2. Considering the steady increase in the revenue and to maximise the revenue during festival seasons and to replace the over aged buses the Managing Directors of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations, Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Erode and Trichy have requested permission to purchase additional chassis over and above the number of chassis allotted in the G.O. first cited.

3. As per Tender Transparency Act, Section 14 (9) the Tender accepting authority shall be ordinarily permitted to vary the quantity finally ordered to the extent of 25% either way of the requirement indicated in the tender documents.

4. The Tender Award Committee has called for tender for 534 chassis for 2002-03 and they can increase the quantity by 133 Nos. (25%) in the existing tender.

5. The Government accord approval to the Director, Institute of Road Transport for procurement of 125 additional chassis for 2002-03 on behalf of the following four State Transport Undertakings, in accordance with Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tender Act 1998 and Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tender Rules 2002.

1)      TNsTC, Villupuram 50

2)      TNSTC, Dharmapuri 25

3)      TNSTC, Erode 25

4)      TNSTC, Trichy 25

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.3778/FS/P/03, dated 11.11.03.
