In the G.O. 1st read above the Government sanctioned a sum of Rs.1,15,000/- (Rupees one lakh and fifteen thousand only) towards purchase of one cash chest for the Assistant Director (Accounts-SIDA) in the Directorate of Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department at a cost of Rs.15,000/- and 20 (twenty) cash boxes at a cost of Rs.5,000/- per cash box for the offices of the three Programme Officers and seventeen Child Development Project Officers from the Public Works Workshop and Stores of the Public Works Department at Madras-1.

2.The Commissioner of Social Welfare and the Project Co-ordinator, World Bank Assisted ICDS-III Project have stated that orders were placed with the Public Works Department to supply one cash chest and 20 cash boxes and all of them were supplied by them at a total cost of Rs.76,464/-. The payment to an extent of Rs.23,909/- and Rs.20,155/- totalling Rs.44,064/- towards the supply of 10 Cash Boxes and One Cash Chest had been made to the Public Works Workshop and Stores, Chennai-1 and a sum of Rs.32,400/- has to be paid to settle the balance amount. Hence the Project Co-ordinator, World Bank Assisted ICDS-III Project has requested the Government to sanction and authorize him to settle the balance amount of Rs.32,400/- to Public Works Workshop and Stores, Chennai-1

3. The Government have examined the proposal of the Commissioner of Social Welfare and Project Co-ordinator, World Bank Assisted ICDS-III Project and decided to issue an amendment to the G.O. first read above.

4. The Government accordingly issue the following amendment to the G.O.(3D) No.6, Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, Dated 19-4-1995.

Amendment

For the existing para 2 in G.O.(3D) No.6, Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department Dated 19-04-1995 the following shall be substituted:-

"The Government have examined the proposal of the Director of Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme and decided to accept it. They accordingly sanction a sum of Rs. 76,464/- (Rupees Seventy six thousand four hundred and sixty four only) towards purchase of one cash chest for the Directorate of Social Welfare and 20 cash boxes for the offices of three Programme Officers and seventeen Child Development Project Officers from the Public Works Workshop and Stores of the Public Works Department at Chennai-1."

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No. 12458/SW/2006 dated. 30-3-2006.
