ORDER:

The Government is providing financial assistance to Non-Governmental Organisations to maintain Observation Homes and Juvenile Homes under the Juvenile Justice Act, 1986. The grant is paid at Rs.200/- p.m. per child except the Non-Governmental Organisations maintaining Juvenile Home for Girls started during 1998-99. Idhayalaya, Salem is giving at present the preraised grant of Rs.3/- per child per dya (below 12 years) and Rs.4.50/- per child per day (above 12 years). In order to maintain uniformity in the pattern of grant-in-aid, the Director of Social Defence has submitted proposals for enhancement of maintainence grant to Non-Governmental Organisation "Idhayalaya" , Salem at Rs.200/- p.m per child on par with other Non-Governmental Organisations as per G.O.(MS.)No.80, Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, Dated 21-5-99. The Director of Social Defence has also stated that 100 girls will be benefitted under the scheme.

2) The Government accept the proposal of the Director of SocialDefence and accord sanction for a sum of Rs.88,000/- (Rupees Eighty eight thousand only) towards enhancement of maintenance charges at Rs.200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) per month per child irrespective of the age in the Juvenile Home for girls. "Idhayalaya", Salem on par with the other Non-Governmental Organisations as per G.O.(MS.)No.80, Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, Dated 21-5-99 during 2000-2001.

3) The expenditure sanctioned in para 2 above should be debited under

"2235 – Social Security and Welfare – 02 – Social Welfare – 106 – Correctional Services - Schemes in the Ninth Five Year Plan- II – State Plan – JE – Government Approved Schools – 09- Grant-in-aid - 01 – Grants for Current Expenditure " (DPC 2235 02 106 JE 0911).

4) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.33450/SW/2000 Dated 2-5-2000.
