ORDER:

The Government of Tamil Nadu, through Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department is running six Service Homes to give institutional serviceds to the widows, destitutes and deserted women who are below poverty line.

2) The inmates of Service Homes are ebing provided with free food, education, shelter, uniform etc. The vessles supplied long back, had reached a stage of condemnation due to long and continuous usage. In order to give better service to the inmates, supply of new vessels is needed. The Commissioner of Social Welfare has, therefore, submitted a proposal under Part-II Scheme for 2000-2001 for sanction of a sum of Rs.1.50 lakhs (Rupees One lakh and fifty thousand only) towards the purchase of new vessels for the Service Homes at Cuddalore and Tirunelveli.

3) The proposal has been approved by the Standing Finance Committee and necessary provision has been made in the Budget Estimate for 2000-2001. Accordingly, the Government sanction a sum of Rs.1.50 lakhs (Rupees One lakhs and fifty thousand only) for the purchase of new vessels for the Service Homesat Cuddalore and Tirunelveli under Part-II Scheme for the year 2000-2001.

4) The Commissioner of Social Welfare is authorised to draw the amount sanctioned above and disburse it for the purpose in question. He is also requested to ensure that the expenditure should not exceed the amount sanctioned above.

5) The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above should be debited under

"2235 – Social Security and Welfare – 02 – Social Welfare – 103 – Women’s Welfare – Schemes in the Ninth Five Year Plan- II – State Plan – JA – Service Homes in districts -24 – Materials and Supplies"(DPC 2235 02 103 JA 2403)

6) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.46/DS(GV)/SW/2000 Dated 10-5-2000.
