ORDER: In his letter second read above, the Commissioner of Social Welfare has sent proposals to Government under Part-II Schemes for the year 2000-2001 among others for the purchase of 8 new cutting machines to replace the worn out ones, at the 8 cloth cutting centres in 8 Districts for keeping the quality of uniforms under the scheme of free supply of uniforms to school children, since the existing old and worn out machines are causing problems in cutting uniform cloths. 2. The Government have, after careful consideration, accept the Part-II Scheme proposal of Commissioner of Social Welfare (item 14 of approved list for 2000-2001) subject to the restriction of a total cost of Rs.5.60 lakhs at Rs.70,000/- each for 8 centres in 8 Districts viz. Chennai, Dharmapuri, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Vellore, Madurai, Thirunelveli and Thiruvannamalai. Sanction is accorded for incurring the non-recurring expenditure of Rs.5.60 lakhs (Rupees Five Lakhs and Sixty Thousand only) towards purchase of 8 new cloth cutting machines at Rs.70,000/- per machine to replace the worn out machines at the 8 cloth cutting centres mentioned above. 3. The Commissioner of Social Welfare is requested to take action for disposal of worn out old machines after installation of new ones duly adopting auction procedure as per codal provisions and to credit the amount to Government Account. 4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 2 above shall be debited to the following head of account: "2235-Social Security and Welfare-02. Social Welfare-103 Women’s Welfare - Schemes in the Ninth Five Year Plan - II State Plan - JB - Works Centres and Production Units-19 Machinery and Equipments" (D.P.Code No.2235-02-103-JB-1903). 5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.36079/SW/2000, dated 10.5.2000. (BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR)
