ORDER:

 

The Government of Tamilnadu, in Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, is running service homs to give institutional services to the widows, destitutes and deserted women who are below poverty line.

2. Most of the women in the service homes come from a psychologically disturbing backgrounds because of which often they feel depressed about their life and future. In order to provide them peace of mind and to help them to overcome depression orders have been issued in the Government order first read above instroducing Yoga and Meditatioin classes for the inmates in the Service Homes at a cost of Rs.0.80 lakhs during the year 1999-2000.

3. Now, the Commissioner of Social Welfare in his letter second read above has proposed to continue the above scheme for the year 2000-2001 at a cost of Rs.0.96 lakhs which has been provided for in Budget Estimate 2000-2001 and requested to issue continuance orders in this regard.

4. The Government have examined the proposal of Commissioner of Social Welfare and they direct that the scheme of conducting Yoga and Meditation classes for the inmates of Eight Service Homes be continued upto 20-3-2004 at a cost of Rs.0.96 lakhs (Rupees Ninety Six Thousand only) per annum to meet the expenditure towards the scheme of conducting Yoga and Meditation classes to the inmates of Eight Service Homes.

5. The Commissioner of Social Welfare is requested to ensure that the expenditure does not exceed the amount provided for the scheme in the Budget Estimate 2000-2001 and ensuing years.

6. The Commissioner of Social Welfare is also requested to train its own personnel to train the inmates thereafter.

7. The expenditure sanctioned in para 4 above shall be debited to "2235. Social Security and Welfare-02. Social Welfare-103. Women’s Welfare - Schemes in the Nineth Five Year Plan - II. State Plan - JA. Service Homes in Districts - 33. Payments for professional and special services - 03. Special Service" (D.P.Code No.2235-02-103-JA-3332).

8. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.58671/Finance (SW)/2000, dated 8.8.2000.
