GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU ABSTRACT Social Welfare - Child Welfare - Conducting Yoga and Martial Art Classes for inmates of Government Orphanages - Continuance of scheme for five years, i.e upto 2003-2004 - Orders - Issued - reg. SOCIAL WELFARE & NUTRITIOUS MEAL PROGRAMME DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms.No.124 Dated 21-7-2000
dt.21-5-99. ----- ORDER: The Government of Tamil Nadu is running 25 Government Orphanages under the control of Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department throughout the State. As the young generation should be brought up with a sense of discipline and good habits and in order to keep the inmates of Government orphanages fit and active for the above sort of life, orders have been issued in the G.O.first read above, for the introduction of Yoga and martial Arts Classes for the inmates of 10 Government Orphanages at a recurring cost of Rs.1.50 lakhs, per annum from the year 1999-2000.
Now, the Commissioner of Social Welfare, in his letter second read above, has proposed to continue the above scheme for the year 2000-2001 at a cost of Rs.1.50 lakhs which has been provided for in Budget Estimate 2000-2001 and requested to issue standing orders in this regard.
The Government have examined the proposal of Commissioner of Social Welfare and they direct that the scheme of conducting Yoga and Martial Arts Classes for the inmates of 10 (ten) Government Orphanages be continued for five years i.e. upto 2003-2004 at a cost of Rs.1.50 lakhs (Rupees one lakh and fifty thousand only) per annum to meet the expenditure towards the scheme for conducting Yoga and Martial Classes to the inmates of 10 (ten) Government Orphanages for the year 2000-2001.
The Commissioner of Social Weflare & Nutritious Meal Programme is requested to ensure that the expenditure should not exceed the amount provided for the scheme in the Budget Estimate.
The Commissioner of Social Welfare & Nutritious Meal Programme is also requested to train its own personnel for training the students of Government Orphanages thereafter.
The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to "2235-Social Security and Welfare-02-Social Welfare-104 Welfare of Aged, infirm and destitute-Schemes in the Nineth Five Year Plan-II-State Plan-KJ-Maintenance of Orphanages run by Government-72-Training (DPC 2235-02-104-KJ-7202)
This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department Vide its U.O.No.54557/SW/2000 dt.14.7.2000.
