ORDER:-

The Minister (SW) has made an announcement proposal for the year 2003-2004  to the effect that  training will be given for rural SHGs women in land based activities and micro enterprises through TANWA at a cost of Rs.100 lakhs.

2. The Chairperson and Managing Director, Tamilnadu Corporation for Development of Women  Ltd.,  who was consulted in the matter has stated that the Tamilnadu Corporation for Development of Women  Ltd. is engaged in imparting training for the SHGs members in Land Based Agriculture, allied activities in Micro Enterprises through  TANWA in Theni district as a pilot basis under which training in respect of land based activities such as locations specific, crop specific, dry land farming, waste land farming, organic farming, activities in respect of Horticulture, Floriculture, Kitchen Garden etc. and allied activities like Animal Husbandry, Backyard Poultry, Vermi Compost, Mushroom cultivation etc.  In addition, the Tamilnadu Corporation for Development of Women  Ltd  also cover off-farm   Enterprises training such as Food products, Cattle Feed,  Paper Bag, Toys, Plastic Bags, Detergents, Candles etc. during the course of  Training.  Till the year 2002-03, 2100 Rural SHG women in Theni district were trained through TANWA at an estimated cost of Rs.3.00 lakhs.  She has also stated that the Corporation has planned to expand this training programme to all districts, initially covering 1000 women in each district on the aforesaid pattern during the year 2003-2004 at an estimated cost of Rs.100 lakhs.  She has, therefore, requested the Government to approve the above proposal of conducting the above training during the year 2003-04 at a cost of Rs.100.00 lakhs.

3. The Government examined the proposal in detail,  Accordingly sanction is accorded for giving training for 1000 women each in 25 districts for rural based SHGs women  in land based activities under Micro enterprises through TANWA during the year 2003-2004 in 25 districts at an estimated cost of Rs.59.70 lakhs  (Rupees Fifty nine lakhs and seventy thousand only) as mentioned in annexure to this order.  The amount  has to be met from the existing Mathi Budget for 2003-2004 for which necessary budget provision is   already available.

4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

5. This orders issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.2767/FS/P/2003 dated.10.9.2003.
