ORDER;
The Hon’ble Chief Minister had introduced the revolutionary Girl Child Protection Scheme in l992, to promote family planning to eradicate female infanticide and to discourage the preference for male child. In the G.O. tenth reads above, orders were issued reviving the Girl Child Protection Scheme considering the changing trends in educational and other expenses of the Girl children and to confer more financial benefits and security to these vulnerable girl children and for its implementation as per the rules issued therein. In the G.O. eleventh read above orders were issued for the continued implementation of Girl Child Protection Scheme during 2002-2003.
2. In the reference twelfth read above, the Director of Social Welfare has proposed for the continued implementation of the revived Girl Child Protection Scheme during 2003-2004.
3. The Government, after careful examination, accept the proposal of the Director of Social Welfare and accordingly sanction a sum of Rs. 14.00 crores (Rupees Fourteen crores only) for the implementation of the revised Girl Child Protection Scheme during 2003-2004 as per Rules issued in the Government Order tenth read above. The Director of Social Welfare is also requested to implement the above scheme not exceeding Budget Estimate 2003-2004 provision of Rs. 14.00 crores.
4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 ;above shall be debited to 2235. Social Security and Welfare –02. Social Welfare –l02. Child Welfare –JX. Assistance to scheme for Girl Child Welfare – 09. Grants in aid –03. Grants for specific schemes. (D.P.Code No. 2235 02 102 JX 0939).
5. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No. 36692/Fin (SW)/2003-1, dated 20-6-2003.
