Small Industries – Government Assistance to Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited for upgrading Industrial Infrastructure Development – Kurichi, Virudhuagar, Kappalur Industrial Estates – Funds sanctioned – Orders – Issued.

At present 75 Industrial Estates are under the control of Tamilnadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited. The infrastructure created in the Industrial Estates during the period from 1950 and 1970s viz. road, water supply, street light and storm water drain need upgradation.

2. The Managing Director, SIDCO, has reported that provision of Rs.200 lakhs has already been made in the Budget for the year 2006-07 for the Upgradation of certain Industrial Estates. Now the Government of India have conveyed their approval for Upgradation of the existing Industrial Estates in Kurichi, Virudhunagar and Kapplur by reducing the project cost with the condition that the cost over and above should borne by the implementing Agency / Users.

3. The amount approved by the Government of India at 40% grant for the following three estates are as given below:-

4. Based on the approval of the Government of India, the Managing Director, SIDCO, has furnished the following funding pattern in respect of the three Industrial Estates as following:-

1.	Amount to be collected from the allottee by SIDCO in advance (20% of the project cost)	30.44

5. The Managing Director, SIDCO, has requested to Government to sanction the 40% matching grant in respect of the above three Industrial Estates.

6. The Government after careful consideration, accept the revised funding pattern as proposed by SIDCO in para 3 above. Accordingly, sanction is accorded for incurring a sum of Rs.60.85 lakhs to Kurichi Industrial Estates, Rs.13.98 lakhs for Virudhunagar Industrial Estate and Rs.75 lakhs for Kappalur Industrial Estate, totalling Rs.149.83 lakhs (Rupees one hundred and forty nine lakhs and eighty three thousand only) towards Upgradation of Infrastructure facilities in the above three estates subject to the conditions stipulated by the Government of India and that the share of Industrial units is fully collected before commencing the project.

7. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce is authorized to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 6 above.

Rs. 74.83 lakhs sanctioned for Kurichi Industrial Estates and Virudhunagar Industrial Estates shall be debited to “2851 00 102 Small Scale Industries II. State Plan – LQ. Strengthening of existing Industrial Infrastructure in Industrial Estates – 09 – Grants-in-aid (03) grants for specific schemes (DPC 2851 00 102 LQ 0937) and Rs.75.00 lakhs sanctioned for Kappalur Industrial Estates shall be debited to

“2851 00 Village and Small Industries - 102 Small Scale Industries II. State Plan – LQ. Strengthening of existing Industrial Infrastructure in Industrial Estates – 11. Subsidies – 01. Individual Based Subsidy” (DP Code 2851 00 102 LQ 1114)

7. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O. No.20760/Ind/07, dated 29.3.2007
