ORDER:

The   Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce in his letter read above has sent proposal  for sanction of share capital assistance to Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd.,  under Part II Schemes  2001-2002.

2. The Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd. was registered on  18.2.1961 and started functioning from 13.3.1961.  As on 31.5.2001 there are 47 Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe members with a paid up share capital of Rs.37,056.50 which includes Government share participation of Rs.10,000/-

3. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has stated that the society at present is engaged in the production of Top Hood for different kinds of jeeps, stitching Tarpaulins to heavy vehicles etc.  As the motor companies who were hitherto supplying Tarpaulins in  running meters are now manufacturing Tarpaulins in different sizes suitable to vehicles, the society is compelled to diversify its production activity for its survival.  It has been proposed to produce Rexin bags, Mica covered welding, plastic covers, welding of rubber coated clothes for rain coats, caps etc. It has therefore been proposed to purchase plastic welding machine (welding of rexin with rexin, rexin with   mica, mica with mica) with semi automatic operation.  It is expected that with the purchase of the machine, the production of the society in rexin bags, rain coats, plastic covers will increase considerably.  The approximate cost of the plastic welding machine with accessories is Rs.1.50  lakhs.

4. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has therefore requested  to sanction  Rs.1.50 lakhs for purchase of the machinery to the Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd.

5. The Government after careful  examination accept the proposal of the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce.  Sanction is accorded to incur a non-recurring expenditure not exceeding a sum of Rs.1.50 lakhs (Rupees  one lakh and fifty  thousand only) as Government share capital  assistance to the Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd. under Part II Schemes 2001-2002 towards the purchase of plastic welding machine and accessories.

6. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above may be debited to:

“4851.00 Capital outlay on Village and Small Industries.102. Small Scale Industries Schemes in the Ninth Five Year Plan-II-State Plan KT. Share Capital Assistance to Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society 22 Investments.

7. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce is authorised to draw and disburse the amount to the Thanjavur Leather and Auto Liners Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd.

8. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.63886/Ind/2001 dated 13.9.2001.
