ORDER:

In order to chalk out a plan of action to counter terrorism in the composite Dharmapuri district, it was decided to prepare special projects for Dharmapuri district which would lead to development of the area and generation of employment. The activities of the extremists can be curtailed only by improving the socio economic status of the people in the area. Coir industry being an agro-based rural activity, can provide necessary economic activity in the area.

2. Accordingly the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has sent proposal for establishment of Coir Yarn Spinning Industrial Co-operative Society at Veppalampatty Village in Bargur Panchayat Union, Krishnagiri District. Veppalampatty Village in Bargur Panchayat Union is the most backward area in Krishnagiri District. Most of the people of this area fall under below poverty line category without adequate employment. If the society is started in that area, about 50 families would be provided with employment.

3. The total project cost is Rs.3.23 lakhs. The source of Finance is as follows:

4. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has therefore requested the Government to sanction a sum of Rs.1.00 Lakh as State Government share participation to the proposed society under Part II Schemes 2004 - 2005.

5. The Government after careful examination accept the proposal of Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce in para 4 above.

6. Sanction is accorded for incurring an expenditure not exceeding Rs.1.00 lakh (Rupees One lakh only) towards State Government share participation in the proposed society.

7. The expenditure sanctioned in para 6 above shall be debited to the following head of account:

"2851 00 Village and Small Industries 106 Coir Industries Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan 11 State Plan J.A. Assistance to Coir Industrial Cooperatives 09 Grants in Aid 03 Grants for Specific Scheme (DP Code No.2851 00 106 JA 0933)

8. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 6 above to the proposed industrial cooperative society.

9. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.28168/Ind/2004-1 Dated: 26.4.04
