ORDER: In the Governor’s Address on the floor of the Legislative Assembly on 25.5.2001, among other things, it has been announced that a scheme for training five lakhs women in entrepreneurial skills for self employment in five years will be launched. Under this scheme, a target of 25,000 women was fixed for 2001-2002 for implementation by the Director of Industries and Commerce . In the Government Order third read above, the Director of Industries and Commerce was permitted to train 5,000 women under Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana and 20,000 women under the State scheme. A sum of Rs.80.00 lakhs was also sanctioned for implementation of the scheme for training 25,000 women in entrepreneurial skills during 2001-2002. 2. The Director of Industries and Commerce in his letters fourth and fifth read above, has sent proposals for continuation of this scheme during 2002-2003. 3. The Government accept the proposal of the Director of Industries and Commerce and direct that 5,000 women may be trained under Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana and the balance of 20,000 may be trained as per the instructions issued in the Government Order third read above. 4. Sanction is accorded to incur a sum not exceeding Rs.78.55 lakhs (Rupees Seventy eight lakhs and fifty five thousand only) during 2002-2003 towards the expenditure for implementation of the scheme ordered above. The Director of Industries & Commerce is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned. 5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 4 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-
6.The Director of Industries and Commerce is requested to meet the expenditure of Rs.3,32,500/- incurred in connection with the implementation of scheme to impart training 150 candidates for six months both graduates or Diploma holders from out of the funds sanctioned in para 4 above. 7.The Director of Industries & Commerce is directed to send monthly report on implementation of the scheme to Government and to the Nodal Agency viz., Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited, periodically. 8.This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.24/DS(Per)/2002 dated 29.4.2002.
