Officer on Special Duty (Relief and Rehabilitation) D.O.Lr.No.TRR-EAP1/81881/06, dated 10.11.2006. ------ ORDER: In G.O. first read above, Government have accorded administrative sanction for the implementation of TEAP with the assistance of Asian Development Bank for a period of three years. 2. In the G.O. second read above, Government have issued orders for the formation of a Tsunami Project Implementation Unit (TPIU) at the State level to implement the TEAP Project component to be implemented by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. 3. In the G.O third read above, Government have sanctioned the creation of posts for the Tsunami Project Implementation Unit at Chennai and District Project Implementation Units at the District level. These posts were sanctioned for a period of one year from the date of filling up of the posts and their continuance would be extended on the basis of need and performance of the projects. 4. The Project Implementation Officer (PIO), Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, has submitted proposals for continuation of the posts for another two years or till the completion of these projects which ever is earlier. In his proposal he has stated that, as ETRP & TEAP Projects have to be implemented over a period of three years, it is essential that the staff sanctioned in the Annexure 1 & 2 of the G.O. third read above in respect of the Tsunami project Implementation Unit and District Implementation Units are to be continued. The Project Director (ETRP & TEAP) has placed the proposal before the Empowered Committee, which in its meeting held on 26.10.2006 has approved the same. 5. The Government after careful examination accept the recommendations of the Empowered Committee and accordingly sanction the continuance of the staff for Tsunami Project Implementation Unit and District Implementation Units sanctioned in G.O. third read above for a further period of two years or till the date of completion of these projects whichever is earlier. 6. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 5 above shall be debited to the following Head of Account:- "2515 00 Other Rural Development Programme - 102. Community Development - II. State Plan - RC. Asian Development Bank assisted Scheme under Tsunami Emergency Assistance Project (TEAP) - Project Management Unit - Rural Development - 01. Salaries". (DPC No.2515 00 102 RC 0105) 7.
