Abstract Natural Calamities - Tsunami - Tmt. Kunjammal Thomas, Charthala, Kerala State - Relief assistance to her damaged Mini Bus - Rs.84,461/- - Sanctioned from Calamity Relief Fund - Orders Issued. Minutes of the meeting of the State Level Committee on Calamity Relief Fund Schemes dated 26.10.06. ----- ORDER: In the Government order first read above sanction is accorded for Rs.1,90,71,488/- (Rupees one crore ninety lakhs seventy one thousand four hundred and eighty eight only), from Calamity Relief Fund for grant of relief to 400 big traders affected by tsunami at the rate of 35% subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs.3 lakhs per unit and 65% as bank loan. 2) In the letter second read above the Collector of Nagapattinam stated that Tmt. Kunjammal Thomas, Charthala, Kerala State has requested to provide relief for the damages to her Mini bus No. KL 4M 1085 which was damaged due to tsunami on 26.12.2004 under the big traders category. He has requested to sanction Rs.1,21,036/- from the unspent amount sanctioned in the Government Order first read above. 3) The Principal Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration has restricted the sanction as Rs.84,461/- and has forwarded the proposal of the Collector of Nagapattinam to Government for placing before the before the State Level Committee on Calamity Relief Fund Schemes for Consideration as detailed below:
4) The Committee in its meeting held on 26.10.06 observed that the Principal Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration should ensure that Tmt. Kunjammal Thomas is only a single Mini bus owner and that the damaged Mini bus was the only one possessed by her and was vital for her livelihood. Subject to the above Condition the Committee approved the proposal for sanction Rs.84,461/- to Tmt. Kunjammal Thomas, of Kerala State towards the damages caused to her Mini bus by tsunami. 5) The Government accept the decision of the State Level Committee on Calamity Relief Fund Schemes and accordingly sanction a sum of Rs.84,461/- (Rupees Eighty four Thousand four hundred and sixty one only) from Calamity Relief Fund to Tmt. Kunjammal Thomas, Kerala State towards the damages caused to her Mini bus subject to the condition that this was the only one possessed by her and was vital for her livelihood. 6) The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 5 above shall be debited to the head of account under " 2245 Relief on Account of Natural Calamities 80-General - 800 - Other expenditure I Non Plan AB Assistance for undertaking relief works in Tsunami affected areas - 09 Grants - in aid - 01 Grants for Current Expenditure (DPC 2245 - 80 - 800 - AB - 0918)". 7) Necessary funds will be provided in RE/FMA 2006-07. Pending provision of such funds, the Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is hereby authorized to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in paragraph 5 above as per the existing procedure to the Collector of Nagapattinam and he is requested to send the utilization certificate to the Accountant General/ Government. 8) The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is also requested to include the above expenditure while sending RE/FMA proposal for 2006-07 without fail. 9) This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.69655/Finance (Revenue)/06-1, dated 15.11.06 and ASL No.939 (Nine hundred and thirty nine).
