ABSTRACT Tsunami – Tsunami Emergency Assistance Project (TEAP) assisted by Asian Development Bank - Project Implementation Unit at State Level and District Implementation Units at District Level - Formed - Sanction of funds for 2006-07 - Orders - Issued. Revenue (NC.IV.1) Department G.O.Ms.No.573 Read: 1. G.O.No.660, Rev (NC IV (1) Department, dated 8.12.2006. 2. Project Implementation Officer, Tsunami Project Implementation Officer, Rural Development, Chennai, Lr.No.1333/06/A6, dated 18.7.06. **** ORDER: In the Government order first read above, the Government have accorded sanction for a sum of Rs.1,56,66,000/- towards expenditure on purchase of equipments, furniture etc. for Project Implementation Units and District Implementation Units. Accordingly funds have been drawn and expenditure incurred for 2005-06. 2. The Project Implementation Officer, Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, Rural Development Department, Chennai has stated that the Project Implementation Unit and District Implementation Units have started to function with full strength. For speedy and effective implementation of externally aided projects of Asian Development Bank and World Bank during 2006-07, he has requested to sanction a sum of Rs.101.41 lakhs for meeting the expenditures on office expenses, Rent, Hire charges, etc., 3. The Government after careful examination accept the proposal of the Project Implementation Officer, Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, and sanction a sum of Rs.101.41 lakhs (Rupees One Crore one lakh and forty one thousand only) to the office of the Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Chennai and District Implementation Units. 4. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 3 above shall be debited to the following heads of account:- "2515 00 Other Rural Development Programme - 102. Community Development - 11 State Plan - RC. 5. The Project Implementation Officer, Tsunami Project Implementation Unit, Rural Development Department, Chennai, is authorised to draw the amount sanctioned in paragraph 4 above and disburse to the District Implementation Units. 6. Other conditions prescribed for implementation of the scheme in the Government Order second read above shall be followed scrupulously. 7. The Project Implementation Officer shall also obtain the Utilisation Certificate from the districts/implementing authorities and send it to Accountant General under intimation to Rural Development /Revenue Department. 8.
