ORDER:-

In G.O. first and second read above, the Government have sanctioned the appointment of 37 Technical Assistants among other Engineering staff on a consolidated pay of Rs.4000/- per month. On a further request of the Project Implementation Officer, Rural Development Department the Government in the G.O. third read above have accorded approval for the adoption of time scale of Rs.4000-100-6000 for the 37 Technical Assistants instead of consolidated pay.

2. The Project Implementation Officer/ Tsunami Project Implementation Unit has now come up with a proposal that the consolidated pay of Rs.4000/- per month fixed to the Technical Assistants of Tsunami Project Implementation Units in Rural Development Department may be increased to Rs.8000/- per month on par with the pay of Technical Assistants approved in Town Panchayat and Municipal Administration Departments who are paid Rs.8000/- per month vide orders issued in the G.O. fourth read above on the qualification and the nature of work prescribed for the Technical Assistants in all the Departments are one and the same. He has, therefore, requested that the pay for Technical Assistants working in District Implementation Units under the control of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department may also be fixed at Rs.8000/- per month.

3. The Officer on Special Duty (Relief and Rehabilitation) placed the proposal of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department before the Sub-Committee at its meeting held on 14.2.2007 for its consideration. The Sub-Committee after a detailed discussion decided that the consolidated pay of all the Technical Assistants working in Line Departments wherever there are such posts should be uniformly fixed at Rs.4000/- per month with effect from 1.3.2007.

4. The Government after careful consideration accept the decision of the Sub-Committee and direct that the consolidated pay of all the Technical Assistants working in Line Departments wherever there are such posts be uniformly fixed at Rs.4000/- per month with effect from 1.3.2007.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No.27820/RD/07, Dated: 19.5.2007.
