ORDER

In the Government Order first read above, the Government ordered the publication of a notification containing draft amendment to section 'A' of Appendix-I of Revenue Standing Order No.4(2) inviting objections and suggestions from the public as required by section 3 of Tamil Nadu Irrigation Cess (Amendment) Act, 1900.  The notification containing the draft amendment was accordingly published in English in Part II section 2 of the Fort St. George Gazette dated 5.9.'84 and in Tamil in the District Gazettes of all districts at page 4 (Supplement) during October 1984.  No objections or suggestions having been received, the Government do hereby confirm  the draft amendment for revision of Standard scale of water cess in section 'A'     of Appendix-I to Revenue Standing Order 4(2).     

2. The appended notification will be published in English in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette and in Tamil in the District Gazette of all districts.  The Special Commissioner and commissioner of land Administration is  \requested to watch the publication of the notification in the Government Gazette and in the District Gazettes and report the fact to Government.

3. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Land Administration is requested to issued necessary correction slip to Revenue Standing Order 4(2) in due course.

APPENDIX

NOTIFICATION 

In exercise of the powers conferred by section Ii of the Tamil Nadu Irrigation Cess Act, 1865 (Tamil Nadu Act VII of 1865), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Standard Scale of water cess on dry lands contained in section 'A' of the Appendix-I to Revenue Standing Order No.4, paragraph 2, published with Revenue Department  Notification No.138, dated the 8th May 1933, at pages   779-780 of Part I of Fort St. George Gazette, dated the 23rd May      1933, as subsequently amended, the same having been previously published as required by section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Irrigation Cess (Amendment) Act, 1900 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1900).

AMENDMENT

In section A of Appendix-I to Revenue Standing Order No.4, paragraph 2, for the heading "STANDARD SCALE OF WATER CESS ON DRY LANDS' and the entries in the Table thereunder, the following heading and the entries in the Table thereunder shall be substituted namely:-

 'STANDARD SCALE OF WATER CESS ON DRY LANDS IRRIGATED FROM GOVERNMENT SOURCES FOR WHICH SPECIAL WATER CESS RULES ARE NOT ISSUED.'
