In G.O. read above, sanction was accorded for an immediate relief package of one dhoti, one saree and two bed sheets to each of the affected family at a total cost of Rs. 29.12 Crores. As per initial estimation the number of affected families was one lakh.
2. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration in his letter 2nd read above, has stated that the families affected due to Tsunami has presently increased to 1.5 lakh, therefore an additional amount of a sum of Rs. 5 crores may be released as advance payment to the Co-optex for the purchase of 1.5 lakh sets of one dhoti, one saree and two bed- sheets, so as to enable the Co-optex to purchase stock from the open market against cash payment.
3. The Government after careful consideation accept the proposal of the Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and accordingly sanction a sum of Rs. 5 crores (Rupees five crores only) for purchase of 50,000 additional sets consisting of one dhoti, one saree and two bed sheets.
4. The amount sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited under "2245 Relief on account of Natural Calamities - 80 General - 800 Other Expenditure I Non Plan AB Assistance for undertaking relief works in connection with Tsunami 09. Grants in and 01 grants for current Expenditure. (DPC 224580 800 AB 0918).
5. Necessary funds will be provided in RE/FMA 2004-2005 amd Pending provision of such funds. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 4 above as per the existing procedure to the Co-optex. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is requested to send the utilisation certificate to the Accountant General/Government.
6. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is requested to send necessary proposals for inclusion in RE/FMA of the 2004-2005.
7. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be brought to the notice of legislature by specific inclusion in Final Supplementary Estimates 2004-2005. The Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration is requested to send necessary proposals in this regard to Finance (Rev) Department, without fail.
9. This order issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No. 1/FS/P/2005 dated 1.1.2005 and additional sanction ledger No.1297.
