ABSTRACT WAGE EMPLOYMENT SCHEMES - Rural Development Department - Revision of Minimum wages for workers engaged in implementation of SGRY, Special Component of SGRY , National Food For Work Programme and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme - Orders issued. Director of Rural Development letter No.37750/ 2003/SGRY-III dated 6.12.2005. ****** ORDER:- The Director of Rural Development in his letter 3rd read above has stated that at present the wage of Rs.54/- per manday is being paid to the workers under SGRY and National Food for Work Programme as per the G.O. first read above adhering the minimum wages to agricultural workers prescribed under Minimum Wages Act. Now the Government in G.O. second read above have enhanced the minimum wages for Employment in Agriculture to Rs.80/- per day. Considering the orders of the Government above, he has requested that the wages fixed at Rs.80/- per day for employment in Agriculture may be considered to be adopted as wages to the workers engaged in SGRY scheme also. If agreed food grains and cash portion may be adopted as follows.
Suggested rate in the event of reduced food grain of 3 Kg. as per Government of India Letter No.V.24011/34/2001 - SGRY - 1 dated 21.9.2005 (effective from 1.11.05 to 31.3.06) Rs. P. Food grain 3 Kg .x 5.65 . . 16.95 Cash portion .. 63.05 -------- 80.00 -------- Consequent on the revision of the minimum wages to Rs.80/- per day, no financial commitment to State is involved since the payment of wages are made from Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana / Special Component of Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana / National Food for Work Programme. He has therefore requested that orders may be issued for adopting the revised wage rate of Rs.80/- per day under Wage Employment Schemes viz. Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana, Special Component of Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana, National Food for Work Programme and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. 2. After careful examination, the Government have accepted the proposal of the Director of Rural Development and direct that the uniform minimum rate of Rs.80 /- per manday for both men and women engaged under SGRY, Special Component of SGRY, National Food For Work Programme and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme shall be adopted with immediate effect for new works under these schemes.
