In the Government Order read above, the Government have ordered the sanction of Reserve, Equalisation and Incentive Funds to be shared between the Rural Local Bodies and also issued the Guidelines to be followed to utilise the Reserve, Equalisation and Incentive Funds towards capital works, mintenance works, community nfrastructure development works etc.,

2) In the letter second read above, the Director of Rural Development has sent proposal with districtwise break-up details regarding the installation of 10,000 new street lights during 2003-2004, based on the demand putworth by the Public in Rural Areas.

3) The Government after careful examination accept the proposal of the Director of Rural Development and sanction the installation of 10,000 new street lights in Rural Areas as detailed in the Annexure to this Government Order utilising the funds sanctioned in G.O.Ms.No.5, Rural Development Department, Dated 9.1.2004 read in the reference (1) cited above.

4) The Government direct the Director the Rural Development to instruct all Collectors of Districts except Chennai to follow the Guidelines issued for utilising District Collector's Development Fund and Incentive Fund for installation of 10,000 new street lights for 2003-2004 as priority works.

5) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.10 (a)/SS (LK)/04, Dated.12.01.2004.
