In the circumstances stated by the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department , Madurai Region in his letter second read above, the Government accept the proposal of the Chief Engineer, Madurai Region and accord approval for the release of water not exceeding 3016.69 M.c.ft for Kar cultivation to an extent of 18100.14 acres coming under the direct and indirect ayacuts of Kodagan channel, Palayam channel, and Tirunelveli channel of Thambaraparani river from Papanasam Servalar and Manimuthar reservoirs for 120 days from 04.07.2007 on wards.
