No.176 Read: From the Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources Organisation and Chief Engineer (General), Public Works Department Letter No.S7(1)/68809/2003-1, dated 19.5.2007 -o0o- ORDER; The Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources Organisation and Chief Engineer (General), in his letter read above, has sent a detailed estimate for improvements to the Park in Krishnagiri Reservoir in Krishnagiri District at an estimate amount of Rs.70.00 lakhs. He has stated that the Krishnagiri Reservoir Project Park (50 Acres) is located on the left and right side of the Krishnagiri Reservoir and is functioning from the commencement of the reservoir from 1955. In this estimate provisions have been made (i) to provide Soft Landscaping (planting of varieties of Plants and Australian grass), (ii) to provide Hard Landscaping (pavement of pathway with tiles and seating arrangements), (iii) to construct swimming pool, (iv) to provide play equipments for children and (v) to repair existing Fountains and for electrical/plumbing works. He has also informed that by implementing this scheme, more public and tourists will be attracted and this would help to protect the environment. The revenue receipt will also increase considerably from collection of the entrance fee. 2. The overall sanction for providing infrastructure facilities and improvements of Park areas in the Dam sites of Sathanur, Krishnagiri, Bhavanisagar, Mettur and Kelavarapalli are Rs. 250 lakhs. Therefore, the Government restricted the amount requested by Engineer-in-Chief,Water Resources Organisation, and Chief Engineer (General), Public Works Department for improvements and beautification of Park in Krishnagiri Dam to Rs. 65 lakhs instead of Rs.70 lakhs. The above schemes has been approved by the Standing Finance Committee under Part II Schemes for the year 2007-08, with overall estimate cost of Rs.250 lakhs. 3. Accordingly the Government accord administrative
sanction for 4. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:- “4701 – Capital Outlay on Major and Medium Irrigation – 03. Medium Irrigation –Commercial.-315.- Improvements and beautification of Parks in and around Reservoirs in Tamil Nadu – Schemes in the Eleventh Five Year Plan – II. State Plan – JA –Improvements and Beautification of Parks in and around Reservoirs in Tamil Nadu-16. Major Works “ (D.P.Code 4701 03 315 JA 1602) 5. The Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, Chennai Region is requested to take up the work immediately and complete it within the time limit not exceeding administrative sanction approved in para 3 above. He is also requested to send the progress of work to the Government, every month periodically. 6. The Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources Organisation,and Chief Engineer (General), Public Works Department is requested to revise the estimate for Rs.65 lakhs and send the same to Government for record. 7.
