ORDER:

The Chief Engineer (Trichy Region) Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, Trichy has sent proposal through Engineer in Chief, Water Resources Organisation, and Chief Engineer (General) to the Government for construction of a check dam across Cholagampatti vari at LS 4000m of Thanjavur Taluk and District at an estimated cost of Rs 20.00 lakhs.

2. The Chief Engineer, Plan Formulation, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, has stated that the proposed check dam lies in highly favourable zone for recharge as classified in the zonation map. By implementing this scheme the ground water will be recharged in the adjacent village for meeting drinking water needs through bore well, dug wells. This work will be executed by the Regional Chief Engineer. Hence no additional staff will be required for executing the scheme.

3. The above scheme has been approved by the Standing Finance Committee under Part–II schemes for 2007 –2008. Accordingly, the Government accord administrative sanction for the construction of a check dam across Cholagampatti vari at LS 4000m of Thanjavur Taluk and District at an estimated cost of Rs 20.00 lakhs(Rupees Twenty lakhs only)

4. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

4702 –00– Capital outlay on Minor irrigation – 101. Surface Water – Schemes in the XI th Five year Plan – II State plan – JA Special Minor irrigation programme –16 Major works (4702 –00-101-JA – 1607)

5. The Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, Trichy Region is requested to take up the work immediately and to complete it within the time limit. He is also requested to send the progress report to the Government every month, periodically.

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No. 34667/PW II/2007, Dated: 5.6.2007.
