ORDER:

2. The Chief Engineer (Plan Formulation), Public Works Department, Chennai has stated that the existing Project House at Uppar Nirar Weir of the Parambikulam Aliyar Project system was constructed in the year 1970 to facilitate accommodation for the inspecting officers VIP’s Visitors and tourists. Since this Project House is located in a hilly region and subjected to heavy rainfall and variable climatic Passovers, the A.C sheet roofing and other components of the Project House get deteriorated and lost its original intactness.

The following provisions have been included in the proposal

1. Renovation components such as conversion A.C sheet roofing with RCC roofing with ornamental tile finishing.

2. Providing moisture proof false ceiling.

3. Vitrified tiles flooring.

4. Reconstruction of front portico.

5. Improvements to the toilet and improvements to the kitchen

6. Repairs to the joineries, improvements to the water supply and sanitary arrangements.

7. Renewal of electrical wiring and installation of electrical fixtures.

8. Improvements to the garden, pavements and drain arrangements

9. Installation of UPS system etc.,

The cost of scheme at 2007-2008 schedule of rate works out to Rs 20.00 lakhs. This work will be executed by the Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, Pollachi Region. No additional staff will be required for executing this scheme. The ultimate cost of the above scheme is Rs.20.00 lakhs.

3. The above scheme has been approved by the Standing Finance Committee under Part –II schemes for the year 2007 – 2008. Accordingly, the Government accord administrative sanction for carrying out the work of "Renovation of Project House at Upper Nirar in Valparai taluk of Coimbatore District" at an estimated cost of Rs. 20.00 lakhs (Rupees twenty lakhs only) for the year 2007-2008.

4. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

"4701 - Capital outlay on Major and Medium Irrigation – 01- Major Irrigation Commercial – 203 Parambikulam Aliyar Project - Schemes in the Eleventh Five year Plan – II state Plan - JE Buildings 16 Major works" (DPC 4701 – 01-203-JE – 1603)

5. The Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department, Pollachi Region is requested to take up the work immediately and complete it within the stipulated time. He is also requested to send a report on the progress of work to the Government every Month periodically.

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.32171/PW II/07, dated 4.5.2007.
