ORDER:- The World Bank, in its Board meeting held on 20.6.95, has approved a credit of SDR 181.9 Million for the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Consolidation Project . 2. Orders were issued in the G.O. first read above according administrative sanction for the implementation of the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Consolidation Project at a base cost of Rs.807.49 crores, comprising of various components. 3. The Empowered Committee on Water Resources Consolidation Project, reconstituted in the G.O. second read above, in its 34th meeting held on 31-10-2003 has approved the estimate for carrying out the study on "Environmental and Social Assessment in River Basins in Tamil Nadu " at an estimated cost of Rs.37.00 lakhs 4.The details of the work are as follows:- a) Name of work : carrying out "Environmental and Social Assessment in River Basins in Tamil Nadu" b) Cost of work : Rs.37.00 lakhs c) SAR Provision : Nil. The expenditure shall be met from the amount of earmarked for expending in the extended period of one year during 2003-2004 under Water Resources Consolidation Project. d) Item of work : Compile existing environmental and social knowledge base in a GIS frame work etc. e) Main component : f) Land Acquisition : NIL g) Amount cleared by E.C. : Rs. 37 lakhs 5. The Government after careful consideration have decided to accept the recommendation of Empowered Committee. Accordingly sanction is accorded to incur an expenditure of Rs. 37/-lakhs (Rupees thirty seven lakhs only) towards conducting Environmental and Social Assessment Studies on River basins of Tamil Nadu 6. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the head of account: 2701 Major and Medium Irrigation -03 Medium Irrigation - Commercial-180-Rehabilitation of Existing works under WRCP SCHEMES IN THE TENTH FIVE YEAR PLAN -II State Plan-PC -Environmental Action Plan under Water Resources Consolidation Project -33 Payment for Professional and Special Services-03 Special Services(DPC No.2701 03 180 P C 3334) 7. Necessary funds will be provided in RE/FMA 2003-04. The Engineer-in-Chief, Water Resources Organisation, Public Works Department is authorized to draw and incur the expenditure with pending provision of funds in RE/FMA 2003-04. He is also requested to include this expenditure while sending proposal for RE/FMA 2003-2004 to the Government in Finance Department without fail. 8.The Chief Engineer (Plan Formulation), Water Resources Organisation shall ensure that the work be implemented as per schedule without time and cost overrun. The work shall be executed as per the terms of reference approved by the World Bank. 9.This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.859/ DS(VNP)/ 2003-1 dated 18.12.2003 and Additional Sanction Ledger No.884 (BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR) N.S.
