GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU ABSTRACT Public Works Department - Irrigation - Part II Scheme 2003-2004 - Improvement of Puliyankulam Supply Channel and excavation of new channel from Puliyankulam to Pennathur tank in Pennathur Vilage, Manapparai taluk, Trichy District - Orders - issued. PUBLIC WORKS (N2) DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms.No. 196 Read: From the Chief Engineer (Plan Formulation) letter No. F1/8311/2002/Part II/dated 10.12.2002. ******* ORDER: The Chief Engineer (Plan Formulation) has sent the proposal for the improvement of Puliyankulam Supply Channel and excavation of new channel from Puliyankulam to Pennathur tank in Pennathur Vilage, Manapparai taluk, Trichy Districtand to increase the height of Puliyankulam anicut across Dombachiar River by 0.9 M. 2. The Chief Engineer (Plan Formulation) has reported that by implementing this scheme an extent of 186.05 acres of ayacut will be benefited which can be categorized as 102.47 acres of stabilization and 83.58 acres of gap. An extent of 7.257 acres of Patta dry lands is to be acquired for the above scheme. 3. The Government after careful consideration accept the proposal under Part II Scheme for 2003-2004 and accord administrative sanction for the improvement to Puliyankulam Supply Channel and excavation of new channel from Puliyankulam to Pennathur tank in Pennathur Vilage, Manapparai taluk, Trichy District at an ultimate cost of Rs.36.00 lakhs (Rupees Thirty six lakhs only). The expenditure during the current financial year for 2003-2004 shall be restricted to Rs.20.00 lakhs (Rupees Twenty lakhs only). 4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debitable to the following head of account: 4702.00. Capital Outlay on Minor Irrigation - 101. Surface water Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan - II. State Plan - JA. Special Minor Irrigation Programme - 16. Major Works (DPC No.4702 00 101 JA 1607). 5. The Chief Engineer, Water Resources Organisation, Trichirapalli Region is requested to take up work immediately and complete it within the time limit. He is also requested to send the periodical progress of work to the Government. 6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No.26330/PWII/2003-1, dated 5.5.2003.
