-------- ORDER: In the Government Order second read above, a sum of Rs.392.85 lakhs was sanctioned for implementing various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme during the year 2004-2005. In the letter third read above, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has sent proposals to the level of Rs.438.24 lakhs to implement various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme for the year 2005-06. After detailed examination, these proposals were restricted to the level of Rs.370.00 lakhs and recommended to the Union Planning Commission, Government of India for approval. Based on the recommendation made by the State Government, the Union Planning Commission, Government of India in the letter fifth read above has also approved an outlay of Rs.370.00 lakhs for implementing various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme for the year 2005-2006.2) Accordingly, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has sent necessary revised proposals for Rs.370.00 lakhs for implementing various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme for the year 2005-2006. 3) The Government, after careful consideration, accept the revised proposals sent by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and accord sanction for incurring an expenditure of Rs.370.00 lakhs (Rupees Three hundred and seventy lakhs only) for implementation of various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme for the year 2005-2006, as detailed in the Annexure I to V to this order. The works relating to maintenance of assets amounting to Rs.13.00 lakhs shall be confined to the list as indicated in the Annexure – V to this order. 4. Sanction is also accorded for continuance of the 22 posts as detailed in the Annexure – VI to this order for a further period of one year from 1-4-2005 to 31-3-2006 or till the need therefor ceases whichever is earlier. The incumbents of the posts are eligible to draw their pay besides other usual allowances as admissible under the orders in force from time to time. 5) The expenditure sanctioned in para-3 above shall be debited under the following head of accounts (Demand No.14): A) Works:

6) The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para-3 above for the implementation of various forestry works under Western Ghats Development Programme during the year 2005-2006 and shall send the monthly Progress Report by 15th of every month without fail. 7) As ordered in the Government Order first read above, the Environment and Forest Department and the concerned District Collectors shall watch the implementation of the schemes. 8) This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.1696/FS/P/2005, dated 24-5-2005.
