Public Services – Execution of Indemnity Bond by Government Servants who take up employment abroad – Orders – Issued.

ORDER:

In the Government Order read above, orders were issued permitting the Government Servants to apply and secure employment abroad either through Overseas Manpower Corporation Limited or other available sources.

 2. The Government have carefully examined the question whether any indemnity bond need be prescribed for execution by Government Servants in the context of taking up the gainful employment abroad in terms of the Government Order read above. 

  1. The Government issue the following orders:

    1. (i)         Government Servants who take up gainful employment abroad need not execute any indemnity bond; 
    2. (ii)        Government Servants who belong to scarce categories whose services are essentially required by the State Government should not be permitted to take up employment abroad; 
    3. (iii)       The Government Servants who have contractual obligation in connection with Government sponsorship for higher studies etc. should be permitted to take up gainful employment abroad only after their contractual period with the Government is over or only after payment of proportionate amount for residuary period of contractual obligation as prescribed in G.O.Ms.No.40, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, dated 22.1.90. 

4. These orders shall take effect from the date of their issue.
