ABSTRACT

Public Services - Male Temporary Assistants appointed on contract basis in Tamil Nadu Secretariat  during the general strike of the Government employees - Transferred to TASMAC to function as Supervisors in the retail outlets at Chennai - Orders issued.

ORDER:

In the G.O. cited, Government engaged certain persons from the Employment Exchanges on a temporary contract (supernumerary) basis to handle the work in the absense of regular employees who went on strike.  Following the end of the strike and the orders of the three Special Judges, most of the regular employees have been restored to service.  The temporary contract employees are now rendered surplus.

2. The Government therefore direct that all the 506 male temporary Assistants appointed on contract basis in Tamil Nadu Secretariat in the supernumerary posts created in the G.O. read above work as Supervisors (Graduates) in the retail outlets of TASMAC at Chennai, with immediate effect.  Orders on the terms and conditions and period of engagement will be issued separately.

3. The Departments of Secretariat are requested to direct them to report before the Managing Director, TASMAC immediately.
