ORDER:

The Vice Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute has stated that Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute is a Deemed University and the status was granted by the Government of India. The University has devised an innovative four year programme in allied Health Science. In the above course, only 50 students are admitted and the students who have joined the above course will be given intensive training in the laboratory, so they will be in a for better position to assist the physician and surgeons. The graduates are of great demand not only in private and corporate sector but also in private and Government hospitals. In view of above, the Vice-Chancellor, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute has requested to recognise the B.Sc. (Allied Health Science) for purpose of appointment in Public Services.

2. The above request of Vice-Chancellor was placed before the Committee constituted inG.O.Ms.No.441, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (R) Department, dated 20.12.93 for its recommendations.

3. The Committee in its meeting held on 21.8.98 has resolved to recommend to recognise the B.Sc. (Allied Health Science) Degree awarded by Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Porur, on par with any other B.Sc. degree prescribed for the purpose of employment in public services without specific reference to a particular subject.

4. The government after careful examination have decided to accept the recommendation of the Committee and accordingly direct that the B.Sc. (Allied Health Science) degree awarded by Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Porur be recognised on par with any other B.Sc. degree prescribed for the purpose of employment in public services without specific reference to a particular subject.
