ORDER:

The Government of India have enacted  the Right  to Information Act, 2005 in order to provide the public, the right   of access to information about the Administration and to enable  them to get details  about the schemes of the Government implemented by various Departments.

2) As per the Act, the “State Public Information Officer” and the “Appellate Authority” have to be notified by the Government.  Accordingly, the Government in Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department appoint  Thiru. M.Edward, Deputy Secretary to Government (Services), Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department as the “State Public Information Officer” and Tmt. V.Vedam, Joint Secretary to Government (Personnel), Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department as the “Appellate Authority”.

3) The following Notifications will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette:-

NOTIFICATION-I

Under  sub-section  (1)  of section 5 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 [Central Act 22 of 2005], the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby designates  Thiru M.Edward,  Deputy Secretary to Government (Services), Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department  as the State Public Information Officer  so far as the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department is concerned, to provide information to persons requesting for the information under that Act.

NOTIFICATION-II

Under sub-section (1) of section 19 read with sub-section (2) of Section 5 of the Right to Information Act, 2005[Central Act 22 of 2005], the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby specifies,  Tmt. V.Vedam, Joint Secretary to Government (Personnel), Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department as the authority to whom appeal may be preferred under the said section 19 of the said Act, so far as the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department is concerned.
