ORDER:

In the Government Memorandum first read above, a new Act namely, Tamil Nadu Agricultural Labourers-Farmers (Social Security and Welfare) Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 29 of 2006) has been published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette. In the Government Order second read above, the said Act was brought into force with effect from 22.12.2006.

2. In the Government order third read above, a notification was issued under the said Act bringing into force the said scheme with effect from 22.12.2006.

3. In the Revised Budget Estimate 2006-2007, a  sum of Rs.1,00,00,000/- (Rupees One crore only) has been allotted to this department under the said scheme for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said scheme studying Law. Out of the said amount of Rs.1,00,00,000/- (Rupees One crore only) a sum of Rs.80,00,000/- (Rupees Eighty lakhs only) was apportioned for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said scheme studying Law and belonging to other than Scheduled Caste community and a sum of Rs.20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty lakhs only) was apportioned for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said scheme studying Law and belonging to Scheduled Caste community.

4. In the Government order fourth read above, the Government have issued instructions to the departments of Secretariat to apportion the above said provisions made in the Revised Budget Estimate 2006-2007 to the Head of the department on their requirement.

5. The Director of Legal Studies is hereby authorized to draw and disburse the said amount to the eligible beneficiaries in Government Law Colleges and the School of Excellence in Law in Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

6. The expenditure for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said scheme studying Law and belonging to other than Scheduled Caste community shall be debited to the following head of account:-

“2202 General Education – 03 University and Higher Education – 107 Scholarships 11. State Plan – JF Agricultural Labour Welfare Board – Educational assistance to the children of members studying Law – 12 Scholarships and stipends – 09 others (DPC 2202 03 107 JF 1290)

 

7. The expenditure for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said scheme studying Law and belonging  to Scheduled Caste community shall be debited to the following head of account:-

“2202 General Education – 03 University and Higher Education – 789 Special component plan for Scheduled Castes 11. State Plan – JB Agricultural Labour Welfare Board – Educational assistance to the children of members studying Law under Special component plan – 12 Scholarships and stipends – 09 others (DPC 2202 03 789 JB 1294)
